Bio
Melissa has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Melissa works with children and adults across the lifespan as they navigate life transitions, develop a stronger sense of identity, and better understand the emotional patterns that show up in their lives and relationships.
Her approach is grounded in a strengths-based, collaborative framework. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility, clarify their values, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want - even in the presence of stress, anxiety, or uncertainty. Additionally, trained through a psychodynamic lens, Melissa helps clients explore how their past experiences and relationships continue to influence how they feel, connect, and move through the world today. She also incorporates mindfulness and somatic awareness to support clients in developing a deeper connection to their internal experiences.
Melissa creates a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and empowered and there is often a lot of laughter.
Outside of her clinical work, Melissa enjoys lots of walks with her pup, cheering on her kids in all of their endeavors (all over the country), figuring out a life after the launch with her husband and a lot of baking.
